In his eyes Poetry by Ava Haskins

A darkness takes him over

And I don’t quite understand

How two different people can live

and breathe inside one single man.

He resides in every corner,

Nook and alcove of my mind

Dimmed light I was accustomed to,

I think I’d know him blind.

His tender hands had hurt me so,

I burned him in return,

He’d pierce my skin to watch it bruise.

My gentle friend turned lover spurned.

My sorrow brought him comfort,

The girl I’d been had lived and died.

Was buried, prayed for and dug up again.

Fell in love with Jekyll, now facing Hyde.
