Paul Feig, director of Bridesmaids, The Heat and Freaks and Geeks, is in talks with Sony to helm a reboot of cult classic Ghostbusters with an all-female cast. After ten years spent struggling to make Ghostbusters 3, Sony are planning to scrap the project and start from scratch with a new script. Speculation about casting has lead to as varied suggestions as Jessica Walter, Lizzy Caplan and Miranda Hart, although it’s likely Feig will bring on longtime collaborator Melissa McCarthy, with whom he is currently working on the upcoming action comedy Spy, also starring Rose Byrne and Jason Statham.
