DEPUTY EDITOR

The Deputy Editor will be responsible for editing and maintaining specific sections of the print and online edition. They will provide editorial oversight of content and voice, working closely with section editors to generate and develop ideas for features, reviews, interviews and multimedia content. They will edit print and online articles for content and style, and assist the Editor with hiring and staff development workshops.

ONLINE EDITOR

The Online Editor will be responsible for website strategy and managing regular online coverage on our website. Applicants should be familiar with WordPress and be able to create new website features.

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

The social media manager will be responsible for organising, editing and posting regular updates and content promotions across Facebook and Twitter. They will monitor social media trends, search for arts and culture news articles which can be posted to our accounts, engage with our followers and with relevant web communities. The social media manager will ensure accounts are updated on a daily basis and that messaging is timely and relevant, using social media tools such as Tweetdeck and Hootsuite to schedule tweets.

MULTIMEDIA PRODUCER

Our multimedia producers will work with video and audio content to create online-only exclusives that enhance our written and print coverage. Applicants should have experience in filming and editing video and audio content. We are also looking for a Multimedia Editor who will oversee the work of a team of video journalists and have creative control of the production of original multimedia content on our websites. The Multimedia Editor will also work closely with section editors to develop ideas for multimedia features.

WEB DEVELOPER

Applicants for the paid role of Web Developer should have experience in WordPress, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and should be comfortable building websites from start to finish. The successful applicant will work with a designer over the summer period to build a new tn2 website from the ground up.

BUSINESS MANAGER

The Business Manager (BM) will work with the Editor on developing a strategy for securing print and online advertising. The BM will deal with queries from interested parties and be paid commission on successfully secured revenue.

DESIGN EDITOR

Applicants for the position of Design Editor should have experience in graphic design and be familiar with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. The role will involve working closely with the Editor on the layout and design of each print issue, as well as designing posters for tn2.

COPY EDITOR

The Copy Editor will follow the in-house style guide (tn2 adheres to The Guardian Style Guide) and will be responsible for correcting errors in grammar, spelling, usage and style, to ensure content is consistent, concise and both grammatically and factually correct.

SECTIONS

Editors of the Art & Design, Fashion, Film, Food & Drink, Games, Literature, Music and Television sections will be responsible for the production of strong, original content for our website and print newspaper. They will assign, write, and edit articles for their respective sections. They will be responsible for maintaining a weekly blog series on our website, as well as submitting ideas for interviews, features and reviews for each print issue, and suggesting ways of incorporating multimedia content into their section.

ILLUSTRATORS

Illustrators will be given regular assignments for print and online articles. We are assembling a roster of talented contributors, and interested applicants should email a portfolio of up to five examples of their work to apply@trinitynews.ie.

PHOTOGRAPHERS

The Photo Editor will lead a team of tn2 photographers and be responsible for co-ordinating photos for each section of the print and online editions, in addition to maintaining the FACES and Front Square Fashion sections of each print issue. Interested applicants should email a portfolio of up to five examples of their work to apply@trinitynews.ie.
