Halloween is probably the most fun holiday. Yes, it’s got all those creepy, gothic connotations, but when all is said and done — for most people — Halloween is about ridiculous fancy dress costumes, garish films and cheesy music. There are some curveballs in this playlist and we tried to get a bit contemporary with the likes of Kanye, Rihanna, Sugababes and Jessie Ware in all their baroque, over-the-top glory. There are some strange sounds from Purity Ring and oOoOO (who we maybe just picked on account of his name) and an all-time classic from Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. Predominantly, however, tn2 presents a Halloween soundtrack of unabashed, nostalgic cheese. Ghostbusters, Rocky Horror, that weird song Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff did about Freddy Krueger — we have left no corny Halloween stone unturned. Backstreet Boys make an appearance largely based on that phenomenal video — one of our writers takes it as his inspiration for busting Halloween moves, and suggests that you do the same.
